Growing up, Jennifer would play futsal and seven-a-side football and through her youth, Jennifer was mostly teamed up with boys.

Jennifer made her senior debut for Atlético Madrid in the Segunda División on December 5, 2004, and left in 2010.

She played her first match against Serbia for Spain’s U-19 national team on April 12, 2007, and scored two goals.

Following her win with the Spanish soccer women’s team in August 2023, Jennifer was seen being forcibly kissed by the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales after she collected her medal. Following this, Jennifer went on to state that she “did not like it” nor “did she expect it”.

Spanish soccer boss Luis later stated that the kiss was “mutual” which Hermoso publicly declined.
